Since holding the title of European Green Capital in 2015, learning about the environment and sustainability continues to grow across Bristol with fantastic opportunities for schools and teachers.

Sustainable Learning is a free website connecting teachers with high-quality curriculum resources, expert eco knowledge, field trip locations and upcoming events. Find inspiration from hundreds of free lesson plans and resources for every subject, which meet curriculum objectives whilst exploring environmental themes and sustainability.

Schools in Bristol are also able to access free support from Sustainable Learning towards gaining, maintaining and improving their Eco-school status with regular network and training gatherings, one to one support, pre-assessments and inspirational skill swaps.

The Sustainable Learning website includes the award-winning online educational game ‘Sustainable Shaun’, a city building computer game with Shaun the Sheep.

The game, developed by Sustainable Learning and designed by Aardman Animations, has received over 100,000 players from 168 countries from around the world and is being translated into 26 languages.

Play the classroom version of the game ‘mission mode’, which hosts short sections of the game to play along with a host of complementary lesson plans ranging from one off lessons through to a whole terms worth of project work.
