Education Leaders Conference

Bristol Learning City organises three city-wide Education Leader Conferences each academic year. Education leaders from all state funded schools in Bristol are invited to attend.

In a fast-paced and ever-changing teaching profession, finding space and time to reflect and consider new ideas and initiatives can be challenging.

Each conference provides an opportunity for education leaders in Bristol to:

  • Hear from thought provoking speakers who share current educational thinking and effective practise
  • Learn practical advice from topical workshops led by knowledgeable and forward thinking facilitators
  • Network and collaborate with other education and city-wide leaders
  • Be inspired, stimulated and empowered to implement ideas back at school.

Past Conferences

The Spring Education Leaders Conference took place in February 2017 at City Hall. There was a keynote address by a senior HMI and workshop sessions on effective practice from Bristol schools in raising achievement.

The first Education Leaders Conference of the academic year 2016/17 was held in October 2016. The conference had a focus on technology, impact and effective learning, which presented an exciting opportunity for leaders to learn about the role technology can play in engaging pupils and staff. A variety of workshops were led by Apple’s UK Education Team on how technology strategies can help to raise the achievement of all pupils.
