Education Leaders Conference

Bristol Learning City organises three city-wide Education Leader Conferences each academic year. Education leaders from all state funded schools in Bristol are invited to attend.

In a fast-paced and ever-changing teaching profession, finding space and time to reflect and consider new ideas and initiatives can be challenging.

Each conference provides an opportunity for education leaders in Bristol to:

  • Hear from thought provoking speakers who share current educational thinking and effective practise
  • Learn practical advice from topical workshops led by knowledgeable and forward thinking facilitators
  • Network and collaborate with other education and city-wide leaders
  • Be inspired, stimulated and empowered to implement ideas back at school.

Upcoming Conferences

The Spring Education Leaders Conference is taking place on Thursday 9 February 2017, 8.30am – 11.00am, at City Hall. There will be a keynote address by a senior HMI and workshop sessions in effective practice from Bristol schools in raising achievement.

Past Conferences

The first Education Leaders Conference of the academic year 2016/17 was held in October 2016. The conference had a focus on technology, impact and effective learning, which presented an exciting opportunity for leaders to learn about the role technology can play in engaging pupils and staff.

The day began with a keynote speech from the Mayor of Bristol who presented his vision for education and learning in the city. A variety of workshops were then led by Apple’s UK Education Team on how technology strategies can help to raise the achievement of all pupils.
